| What
is ELTzone Network Affiliates? |
| We
are a network of affiliated education professionals supporting both
personal and professional development through a range of humanistic
teacher training programs, school consulting services and educational
psychology based research projects. Our mission is to support the
activities of and cooperation among education related professionals
who yearn to improve not only the quality of their services and
respective professions, but also the quality of life for individuals. |
 |
| Where
is your office or teacher training center? |
| Although
we are based in Thessaloniki, Greece our network of affiliates and
research projects extend both nationally and internationally. Because
of the range of activities and services we are involved in, our network
is very much 'on the road' and do not support the support the costs
of maintaining an office at this time. This of course means that we
are able to provide as goodwill some services at to the public at
no charge. The network is supported by our internet website. Our special
events and teacher training seminars are held in public facilities,
supporting institutions, affiliate premises, or 'in-house' at contracting
private schools or institutions. |
 |
| Is
there a cost for membership in ELTzone? |
|
NO!
Membership is free and open to anyone who is in an education or
humanistic related field and who identifies with our ideology and
mission. We do not discriminate against any individual regardless
of nationality, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, or school
affiliation.
|
 |
|
Do
you offer an exclusive club that supports a form of elite, executive,
or frequent flyer status for school owners or teacher trainers?
|
| NO!
In true humanistic fashion, we believe that all individuals are equal
and that all opportunities and benefits of membership should be extended
to all members. Being a teacher-based organization, we are used to
promoting the concept of equal learning opportunity for all students.
If this is rule is good enough inside classroom, it's good enough
outside of it as well. |
 |
| Who
can be an affiliate of ELTzone? |
| An
affiliate of ELTzone is member or institution that wishes to promote
their services and also participate in our activities. There is a
fee for affiliation, and affiliates must help defray a share of the
cost for promoting cooperative ELTzone activities in which they participate,
and of course expenses that promote their own services or programs.
We support many opportunities for free promotion through our website,
publishing efforts and the members of the network itself. For more
information on becoming an affiliate, please contact our director,
Jay Schwartz. |
 |
| Who
are your competitors? |
|
We
have no competitors, accept for those who define themselves as such.
We are open and happy to discuss cooperation with all interested
parties. We fully promote, support and respect the right of all
education professionals to earn a living and moreover, to enjoy
both the financial and altruistic fruits of their labor.

 |
| What
is the Action Research Network Project? |
|
This
is a goodwill project to promote reflective teaching practices at
both the personal and community level. The project is open to the
public and is supported through the ELTzone website. It is hoped
that by providing EFL teachers with a framework for and guidance
on conducting action research in their own classes, they will in
turn share their findings with their colleagues. The project will
begin in February 2005 and all the necessary forms and information
for participation will be available on the ELTzone website at that
time.

 |
| What
is the Quality Assurance & Inspection Service? |
|
Quality
has been a controversial topic lately in our field. Unfortunately,
the commitment to providing quality of services has become synonymous
with the purchase of certain products or the membership in various
exclusive organizations. Beginning in January 2005, ELTzone Network
Affiliates will provide a truly independent quality assurance and
inspection service design to reflect the conditions of the local
market. The service will be open to all education-related institutions
regardless of their existing affiliation. Additionally, to support
the promotion of achievable quality and free access, the entire
inspection scheme and guide for improving the quality of services
in your school, will be publicly available on the ELTzone website.
The fee for the inspection will cover the inspectors' time and administrative
costs. Please see our website in February 2005 for further information
on this service and the requirements for becoming a member of the
inspection team.
