Knowledge Test |
|
Preparation
for the Cambridge
ESOL TKT Exam
(Teaching Knowledge Test),
with both internet and personal
support. Available to students
throughout Greece. |
| The
TKT
is a new test about teaching
English to speakers of other
languages. It aims to increase
teachers' confidence and enhance
job prospects by focusing on
the core teaching knowledge
needed by teachers of primary,
secondary or adult learners,
anywhere in the world. It is
ideal for all teachers, whatever
your background and teaching
experience, and is also suitable
for people who would like to
teach English but do not yet
have a teaching position. There
are no formal entry requirements
to undertake the exam or the
ELTzone
Network
preparation scheme. |

| Description: Thirty-seven-year-old
Britton Paul Shaw is immobilised in Ippokration
hospital awaiting surgery. He has suffered
from several bouts of an undiagnosed syndrome,
resulting in spastic quadriplegia (a loss
of function in his four limbs, along with
other complications like the loss of organ
control in his torso). While IKA will cover
the surgery and some aftercare, according
to the head of the neurological department,
it is vital that he gets the most advanced
equipment and support for his rehabilitation;
Hyphen, his employers, are being as supportive
as possible in that direction, but Paul is
also appealing to the community for additional
funding. The target is to raise 30,000 euro;
Paul says any extra funds will go to charities
involved with spasticity (neurodegenerative)
illnesses or female cancers (in honour of
his late sister). With your help, we hope
Paul can make a speedy recovery and continue
to contribute professionally to the English
Language Teaching world. Book your place by
January 24 by emailing paulshawfund@gmail.com
(noting ’Paul Shaw’ as the subject):
20€ per person (includes light buffet
and soft drinks) Live music by The S &
J Experience – and friends Fantastic

• Those not
able to attend the event but wishing to
make a donation can make a direct deposit
(in Greece) into his Alpha Bank account,
account number 709002101160876 (account
